Honorable Senators,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am writing to convey to all of you the importance of HB 369. This bill will greatly affect my family as well as over 30% of men in Georgia annually. That is a staggering number of victims. I am not related to Carnell Smith, but I do know exactly what he is feeling and the frustration he is dealing with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The longer this bill is not law the longer the morally depraved will continue to claim victims. Who are these victims? First, the bi ological father and his family, and second, the alleged biological father and his family. The morally depraved do not have to worry that they will one day discover a heinous lie. They do not experience emotional, financial and
legal devastation. They just go to the bank every month for the check.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Please allow me to give you all a little insight into my family’s emotional and financial devastation. As members of the US Armed Forces, we have been taught to take responsibility but also seek responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That is exactly what my husband did 10 years ago when his girlfriend claimed to be pregnant. Before his departure for The Gulf War, he married her. While he was there she dismantled his credit. Credit that I am still trying to straighten
out 10 years later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After his return and while attached to the Drum and Bugle Corps, he returned home early to find that his wife “had company” (moral depravity). This caused their divorce. Eight years later she\u00a0was once again pregnant, out-of-wedlock\u00a0(moral depravity), with her IDENTICAL TWIN SISTER’S EX-HUSBAND’S child (moral depravity). She eventually married her ex-Brother-in-Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To my husband this was more than a mere coincidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He had a DNA test done and was devastated to learn that the child he thought was biologically his, was not. However, the morally depraved criminal still expects to be paid 17 – 23% of my husband’s gross income as child support per month. Monthly adjustments to ensure she gets as much money as possible while she doesn’t work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She also has set extreme limits on visitation. I ask you Senators; doesn’t this make my husband a silent benefactor? He is not the biological father, has limited access to this child, but pays and pays and pays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The longer this bill takes to become law the longer it will take for the morally depraved to locate the biological families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These biological families will miss another birthday, soccer game, dance recital, etc. How many fathers have to miss another Saturday with their sons fishing or playing catch?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They will miss watching their daughters get ready for the prom. If 18 years later these young men and women are finally told the truth, how horrible is that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They have missed 18 years with their rightful, biological families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also these children at anytime could become ill with a genetically inherited disease. What happens then?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The longer these criminals receive compensation for their actions the longer they will deny their wrongdoing. Even some of the most heinous criminals, murderers or rapists, at times show remorse for their crimes. But not the criminals who commit Paternity Fraud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They have played God with so many lives. Seeing that they are motivated by money, the children will be well taken care of. After all, these people will eventually go after the rightful parents, but only if made to do so. Made to do so by HB 369.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Please, I plead with all of you to consider this bill and make it law, now. It will help so many people now and in the future. It will make these women think twice before they play with other people’s lives again. No one else can stop the claiming of so many victims in Georgia, but the Lawmakers of Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
